Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how to control them.

Effective: 1 January 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how NorthYatra ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on northyatra.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your personal information more broadly.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences (such as a part-filled enquiry form) over a period of time, and help the site work efficiently and securely. We also use similar technologies like localStorage and service workers to power offline access and remember in-page choices (for example, the packages you have selected to compare).

The categories of cookies we use

1. Strictly necessary

These are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They include:

  • Authentication & security — Supabase session cookies that keep our staff securely signed in to the admin area and protect forms against abuse.
  • Consent state — a small cookie that remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Comparison & preferences — browser localStorage used to remember the tour packages you add to the compare tray and similar on-site preferences.

Because these are required to deliver a service you have requested, they do not need consent under the law.

2. Analytics (optional)

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization to understand which pages and destinations travellers find useful, so we can improve the site. These cookies (for example _ga, _ga_*) are only set after you acceptanalytics cookies in our consent banner. If you decline, analytics scripts are not loaded.

3. Performance & delivery

Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies and use Cloudflare Insights to keep the site fast, available, and protected from malicious traffic. These do not track you across other websites.

4. Payment

When you make a payment, our gateway partner Razorpay sets its own cookies on its secure checkout to process the transaction and prevent fraud. These are governed by Razorpay's own cookie and privacy policies.

We do not use advertising cookies

NorthYatra does not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell your data to advertising networks.

Managing your cookie choices

  • On this site — use the consent banner shown on your first visit to accept or decline optional analytics cookies. You can change your choice any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will make the banner appear again.
  • In your browser — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies via its settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics — you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices or legal requirements change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
